Akay Spices which became operational in February 2014 is dedicated to producing steam sterilized whole and milled spices to global standards. With an installed capacity to process 10000 MT of dry spices per year, the production facility is located near Cochin in India.

Akay Spices uses advanced Ventilex steam sterilization system. This gives the capability to fine tune processing parameters to achieve demanding specifications while consistently maintaining product quality. The production facility is supported by a laboratory including GC-MS/MS, UV Spectrophotometer, HPLC etc. The laboratory is also fully equipped to test for microbiological parameters.
Akay Spices has also embarked on a backward integration programme for Chili, growing 2000 mt of crop under contract farming model. This was done with a view to provide complete farm-to-fork traceability and product confirming to international pesticide residue limits. In addition, the company operates its own farm in Cambodia employing modern farming techniques producing organic Black Pepper, Turmeric and Chili. Drawing synergy from Akay's sourcing team, raw materials are procured from around the world, in conformity with international standards.
